Iguassu Falls, Brazil – Iguazu Falls, Argentina (Iguazú Falls)
My trip to Iguassu Falls in Brazil was definitely and adventure. We flew out of Dallas Texas on an 11 hour flight to Sao Paulo Brazil. I rented a car there and navigated the nightmarish traffic jams of a city with 17 million people. We finally made it to my wife’s families’ house on the other side of the city, got acquainted and rested for the next few days of travel. The next day we packed up the car with family members and headed out on what we thought would be a 19 hour drive across the country of Brazil. I got lost several times trying to get to the highway that would lead us out of the city. But eventually found BR 116 that would take us to the city of Curitiba and connect to BR 277 for most of the rest of the journey.

Things were pretty uneventful for most of the way there. But on the west side […]

I travel to Utah every year sometimes twice a year. Almost every time I go, I stop by and hike around in the Arches National Park. I have been there 8 times now and I would have to say it is my favorite National Park in America. Most of the time I travel alone but I have taken my wife with me twice and a group of friends with me one year to share the experience I enjoy the most.

To me the Arches along with the Canyonlands National Park is my favorite place on earth. It’s surreal landscape represents what the west is all about.

I remember my first trip here back in 2000. I was so unprepared for what I was about to experience. Both in photo expectations and camping gear. I was here in mid April and was hit with 80 degree weather for the first few days then a sleet storm for my last two days here.

My first time up Delicate Arch was a memorable experience. […]

Took off and drove all night to the north west corner of New Mexico Thursday night after work. Took 16 hours to get there. Arrived there around 11:30 am. Since I refuse to shoot during the bad part of the day, I slept in the car and waited there until 5 pm. Then finally sunset was approaching so a hiking I went.

This was my second time there. I had to go back since I didn’t get very many good shots my first trip out nearly 3 years ago. Stayed there shooting til the sun went away, then drove all the way back to Dallas. I didn’t wake back up til noon today. Pretty beat right now still. It’s getting harder for me to do these marathon type trips with very little sleep. All this effort just to shoot at sunset.

Well I drove back the following weekend since I could not find the […]
